Our Stories (# 1088)

15 06 2017

I woke up early this morning thinking about another suggestion in the Power of Meow book to drop our stories. As a historian I have had trouble with the idea of discounting the past. I love my stories about what it was like growing up in the city and also in the country. On the other hand I have had experience with dropping beliefs that I carried from childhood. Sometimes this is very hard. I am sure there are entries in this blog when I was doing this.

Easier to drop are stories such as “I can’t do this or that” or “I always fail at this or that”. There are the expectations that we need to be perfect. We create stories about why we do not like someone. We create stories about why someone does not like us. All these get in the way of doing the things we would like to do. In some ways it is like creating boxes for ourselves; our choices are limited to what we allow in the box.

  1. F. Remembering it is enough to be alive
  2. F. remembering to be grateful.
